Screen printing – UV & conventional

When strong colour, high opacity and durability matter, screen printing is the process of choice. We print with UV-curing and conventional ink systems – and choose the right one for every material and requirement.

In screen printing, a squeegee presses the ink through a fine mesh. A stencil on the screen only lets the ink through where the image is to appear.

The result is a much thicker ink deposit than in other printing processes: rich, opaque areas – even white on transparent or dark material – and durability that meets technical requirements.

  1. 1Screen & stencilA separate screen is exposed with the image for each colour.
  2. 2SqueegeeingThe squeegee pushes the ink through the open areas onto the material.
  3. 3Curing or dryingDepending on the ink system, by UV light in seconds or by drying.
The squeegee draws the ink evenly across the screen.

Which system fits depends on the material, application and finishing. We're happy to advise you.

Option 1

The ink cures instantly under UV light – with no solvents that need to evaporate.

  • Ready for immediate finishing, short lead times
  • Brilliant, scratch-resistant surfaces
  • Ideal for finishing: UV spot varnish, relief and texture varnish
  • Solvent-free printing process

Option 2

Solvent-based inks bond with the plastic surface and dry physically.

  • Excellent adhesion on demanding plastics
  • Flexible – also for formed or curved parts
  • Wide choice of special inks
  • Proven for water-slide decals and decal sets

Durable marking for machines, devices and industry.

Opaque colour areas, backlighting windows and precise symbols.

For model making, product decoration and marking.
